Simple Fall Makeup

I absolutely love makeup. I used to spend hours trying different colours and application techniques as a teenager. There were plenty of days I couldn’t go out without a full face of makeup on. But as I get older I can appreciate wearing less and keeping it simple yet stand out.

Lately I’ve been going without eyeliner but spending the extra time fanning out my lashes and defining my lips. This is my fall go-to look when I’m strapped for time or just want to keep it simple.

HerStyleStory Get’s Fit!

Ok so I’m an on again of again gym rat. I love hitting up the gym but almost always, the motivation gradually disappears and then I stop going altogether.

I had made my return at the beginning of this summer but had to stop going because of a personal family loss and was demotivated from then, until recently. Since I’ve pushed myself to start this blog, I’ve gained some inspiration and have decided to hit up the gym again.

It’s all about getting back on track with my fitness and health. I used to workout five days a week and eat loads of food! Healthy food that is but none the less I treated my body like a temple. So now I’m going back to that and will be sharing some tips and tricks along the way (I’m not a fitness professional by any means but I know a thing or two here and there).

So of course while starting a new journey…again, I would have to look the part. While visiting an old coworker I decided to purchase a new workout ensemble at Reitmans . They carry an active wear collection called Hyba and it’s not only fashionable with workout appropriate material but it’s affordable.

What’s even better is they carry some workout pants in four different lengths! So for all you really short ladies (like myself!) there is a 28″ (ultra petite) seam pant available! Other lengths include 29″ (petite), 32″ (regular), 34″ (tall). Tops run from xs – xxl. So there’s something for everyone. Prices run from $20-$50.

Falling into Style

It’s officially Fall, my favourite season of the year!  The endless amount of layering, mix and matching, leathering details, plaid, denim get ups, shoe game update – I could go on.  It’s the colours.  They get me every time.  I mean I love summer, I’m originally from a country where summer is all year long, but the rustic colours never disappoint me.  From plum to orange to burgundy to forest green.  From leather and lace accents.  From cozy knits and fun toques.  Boots.  Omg the shoe game for fall though?  Don’t get me started.

I feel like Fall brings out the real fashionista in me and I find myself playing around a lot more with different textures and patterns.

Let the Style Story Begin

Earlier this year I told myself that Her Style Story will be born.  Then life happened.  A whole lot of life.  I’ve put this dream on hold for about a year.  It’s been a year in the making, idea after idea.  Design after design.  Inspiration after inspiration. Several sketches here and there and some have come into fruition.  This is my creative outlet for the world to see.  Here I will tell my story. Let my style speak to you through the lens of fashion, arts, culture and music along with interactive posts.  I want to get you involved too!  Yes, your opinions and ideas! I want to get the discussions started!  So come along for the ride and let Her Style Story begin!
